No such thing as a pain free life

Life, painful as it is, creates a conundrum.

Remove pain, it’s not real life.

Insist on real life, receive pain.

Life is pain, among other things.

What do we do with this?

You can do anything you want with it. Draw any conclusion. Respond as you prefer to live.

Life gives you pain, but it also gives you the freedom to decide what to do with it. There are no rules for it. No required attitudes or approaches.

You get to see it how you want to see it. Make of it what you want to make of it. Do with it what you want to do with it.

Want to see pain as a reason to hide from life? Go ahead. Many doors available for you to walk that path.

Want to see it as a reason to embrace life and make the most of it? Go for it. Plenty of doors for that path, too.

Want to see pain as unfairly targeting you or uniquely blessing you? That decision is up to you. Along with any other conclusion you want to draw.

You can see pain as ugly or beautiful.
A sign of evil or of life.
Escapable or inevitable.
Something to avoid or to experience.
Permanent or transient.
An impossible load or a worthy price.

You won't get freedom from pain, but you do get the freedom to decide how you see it and what you do with it. That's E+R=O. Pain is an event. Your response is still yours.

The outcome doesn't come from the pain. It comes from your response.

Make the leap. Do the work.
